Creative Wedding March and Dance

You know wedding dance, march and the whole charade is somehow suppose to be romantic, lovey dovey, mushy and lined up with so many teary moments. That can be quite the bore from a guest's point of view. Wedding only happens once in a life time (for most people anyway), it's all about being happy on that special day and sharing that special moment with all your loved ones. I've stumbled upon these videos from Youtube that should be a benchmark of all weddings. It's enlightening, sweet and romantic in a very unconventional way.

Creative Wedding March

Kudos to the bride, groom and all the bridesmaids and groomsmen for being such a sport. This is going to be a trend, I just know it will be.

P/S:I think I'll like to do this for my wedding (somewhere in the distant future), seeing that I love dancing so much. It only makes sense!

Creative First Dance
This is another video I found on Youtube, this is a very cool way to do your First Dance.

Again very unconventional and not too mushy, but yet it comes across as romantic and sweet. You can see everyone is just having fun, including the bride and groom. This is how a wedding should be like!

The Breast Cancer Dance

This is a powerful choreography by Emmy Nominee - Tyce Diorio. He choreographed this dance based on his friend's battle against breast cancer experience. This elegant and emotional Breast Cancer Tribute was performed by Melissa and Ade on So You Think You Can Dance to the music 'This Woman's Work' by Maxwell. All the judges and audiences were moved to tears. I cried watching this dance piece, I think a lot of us can relate to the emotions that were expressed by the dancers. Take a good look at it and tell me what you think.

Yasmin Ahmad

Film director Yasmin Ahmad in hospital (Update 6)

KUALA LUMPUR: Critically-acclaimed movie and TV commercial director Yasmin Ahmad underwent emergency surgery at a hospital here after suffering a stroke at about 4:30pm on Thursday.

She was at Sri Pentas at TV3 for a meeting with pop diva Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and her husband Datuk Khalid Jiwa when she reportedly felt unwell and had difficulty breathing.

Siti, who was an ambassador for the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, immediately administered CPR, together with a TV3 panel doctor.

When they could not revive her, they immediately sent to the Intensive Care Unit at the Damansara Specialist Centre. Doctors there administered CPR and stabilised her before performing surgery at about 6pm to reduce the swelling in her brain.

Doctors said she was in stable but critical condition.

A host of Malaysian personalities were at the hospital, including Siti and Khalid, Suria FM’s Engku Emran, TV3 CEO Farid Jamaluddin, and indie filmmakers James Lee, Pete Teo, Liew Seng Tat.

According to former journalist and actress Fatimah Abu Bakar, Yasmin’s parents caught the 7pm flight from Langkawi to be at her side.

Datuk Dr Zakaria Zahari, Yasmin’s brother-in-law, said that her condition was stable but critical and will be monitored.

He requested that the media present at the hospital respect the family’s wishes and leave the premises to pray for Yasmin’s recovery.

Yasmin, 51, the director of Sepet, is particularly well known for the community message commercials she directed for Petronas.

She began her career in advertising as a copywriter at Ogilvy & Mather, eventually rising to creative director at Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur.

Her movies have won many international awards and have been screened at the Berlin, San Francisco, Singapore and Cannes international film festivals.

Last November, she was inducted into the inaugural Malaysian Advertising Hall of Fame by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia.

Article taken from The Star online at 8.21 pm, 23 July 2009.
Today is the day where the first Malaysian-Yasmin Ahmad was on the top of Twitter's Trending Topics. Let's all pray for her and hope that she gets well. I read her blog often enough to tell that she is kind, humble and down to earth. Even though she is a celebrity, she will reply comments personally and talks to everyone equally.

Dear Kak Yasmin,

Your movies and commercials have always touched our hearts and reminded us how proud we should be to be Malaysians. Today, you brought to us together again. You were the top of Twitter's Trending Topics. This just proves how Malaysians can unite. I really hope you will recover and see this for yourself. You will definitely be moved by all the things people are saying now, they are praying that you will be fine. Please be well.

Love,
Tammy

Updated 26 July 2009.

Yasmin Ahmad passed away at about 11.25 pm last night. She's the great storyteller who brought us beautiful movies and advertisements. I wish I had the chance to get to know her personally. You're a legend and we will always remember you. Rest in Peace. We'll miss you.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

I LOVE THE HARRY POTTER SERIES! So it's no surprise, that I bought the Premier tickets 3 days before the premier. Me and my cousins have been going on and on about it and we were so excited. On the 16th July 2009, we went to One Utama (muggles' shopping mall) TGV (muggles' cinema) to watch HP6. Before we apparated to O.U., me and Nadia decided we should get ourselves wands that were imported from Ollivander.

Mine is made out of Willow and Phoenix tail feather and Nadia's is made out of Vine Wood and Unicorn hair. Aren't they pretty?

When we apparated to O.U., none of us vomited, even though it was our first time (we're as tough as Harry!).

Nadia the Death Eater! Aurors! Get her!

Best part about magic? With the flick of your wand, food just magically appears!

Stupefy!

Stupefy me again and I shall use the Cruciatus Curse on you!

Move and I will use the Sectumsempra spell on you!

A war has taken place in O.U.! Watch out muggles!

No it wasn't a coincidence, I purposely dressed like Hermione Granger. Isn't that cool?!

Nadia wishes this was Harry instead...

One family portrait. (P/S: If you don't see us moving in the picture, this means you're just an ordinary being, there isn't a single trace of magic in you.)

Now, let's save this precious piece of memory in the Pensieve.

Review:
The movie was not that good. There was more focus on love triangles, snogging and relationships. I didn't cry when Albus Dumbledore died, that scene from the movie just didn't come across as powerful as from the book. A lot of scenes, characters and details were omitted. Any HP fan will be disappointed. I hope that the last episode will be better. It should be the best episode among all, it should end with a big Bang!

Till we me meet again...

Wacky Doughnuts

This is what happens when you put two Doughnuts into a very boring class.

They got bored and started playing with coins. This is called the coins balancing act! Soon they were bored with it too.

These are two very sane Doughnuts. (That's our nickname for each other, it's Trademarked, so please be original and get your own buddy-nickname.)

It was a really boring class...

Michelle started being a little delusional.

We were shocked that we actually managed to find a way to entertain ourselves. It's called the Wacky Doughnut Therapy!

Step 1: Act constipated.

Step 2: Bloat your cheeks while focusing on your nose.

Results are proven! Before: Stoning.

After: Total wackiness and maximum fun!

You should try it too!

This therapy thing works better on Michelle, I think.

You can vote for your favourite Wacky Doughnut shot or post a link to your very own Wacky Doughnut Therapy attempt!

Cheers!

Prawning / Fishing for Prawns

Prawning is Dan's newly found hobby, and he's good at it. Prawning is something very new to me, I never knew there was such a thing until Dan told me about it. I watched him prawn fishing once and enjoyed cooking and eating the catch twice, but I never tried it before.

After watching him fish for awhile, I wanted to try it out myself. I managed to catch 4 prawns in half an hour. It's not as easy as it seems, it requires a lot of skill and patience. You have to wait for the right moment to tug the fishing rod, tug it with just the right amount of strength, and if u manage to catch a prawn, you have to withdraw the rod carefully so that the prawn does not fall back inside, remove the prawn from the hook and place it inside your net.

The drawback about Prawning is that it can be quite costly if you're not good at it. They charge you RM15 per hour, RM5 for the hook (for the first time only), and RM10 per bait (a very large earth worm). You have to catch at least 1KG of prawns in 2 hours to make your money worthwhile.

What I like about prawning is that, you get to enjoy your catch afterward and I love making Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Prawns. It was an interesting experience, I would definitely do it again and I recommend you to try it out too!

This is me and my first catch! This time we only got 700g in 2 and a half hours, we'll do better next time!

Me, Myself & Tammy

  • About Me
I am perky and can be real cranky at times. A perfectionist with many flaws. I am a hypocrite when it comes to certain things. I only do things I love to do. When it comes to things I am passionate about, I give it my 100%. I love those who love me. I appreciate those who have been kind to me. Without these people I would not be who I am today.
