Glass So Clean It's Invisible

The goal was to create a fun, attention-getting ambient experience on the streets of Chicago for Windex. At the same time,Draftfcb Chicago wanted to prove in a light-hearted way what so many Windex users have learned: Glass is so clean it's invisible. The solution was a guerrilla effort utilizing Chicago's renowned Second City improvisational performers and Nothing. The result: thousands of consumers saw nothing and went away thinking only one thing: Glass so clean its invisible. This event was staged over a week during the busiest times of day on Chicago Michigan Avenue.

Another guerrilla style ad by Draftfcb Chicago USA for Windex. This case study video tells it all. The direct audience might not be a lot, but things like this spread like wild fire. Just take a look at you and me, we are half way across the world from Chicago and yet we've watched this ad.

Another "I wish I've thought of that" and "Ooooo so cool and awesome" ad. Enjoy!

Dance to Advertise

In the advertising industry, we're often seeking new unconventional ways to advertise. Print, TV, Radio and Outdoor advertising are considered traditional media for advertising. So what's the latest trend in advertising?

Dance to advertise!

T-Mobile's latest ad called 'Dance' was created by Saatchi & Saatchi London for T-Mobile's Life's for Sharing campaign. The dance took place at London's Liverpool Street Station on 15th January 2009 at 11.00a.m. It was produced using hidden TV cameras within the station, which captured the spontaneous reactions of commuters as they watched the dance troupe perform. The guerrilla-style/flash mob ad was three minutes long. 450 people from all walks of life participated in this ad. The dance was choreographed by Bryony Albert and the songs used for this piece were all-time-favourite songs of different genre.

This is such a feel-good ad! I wish I was part of this, it'll be so fun!
To follow up on this flash mob, T-Mobile set up their very own Youtube channel and uploaded several videos of the Dance rehearsals, celebrities doing the T-Mobile Dance, etc. The latest one is a Sing-Along held at Trafalgar Square on 30 April 2009 at 6.00 p.m. The Sing-Along was lead by Pink and 13 500 people participated.

Here is another dance to advertise piece:
This dance was a promotion stunt for a Belgian television program, where they were scouting for someone to play the leading role in the famous musical - The Sound of Music. This stunt was performed in Central Station of Antwerp, on the 23 March 2009 at 8.00a.m. 200 dancers participated in this 4 minutes long ad, the song used was a remix of one of the Sound of Music theme song - Do Re Mi.

If any of this flash mob ever happen in Malaysia, please count me in! Because I believe dancing can change the world.

Internship at Creative Juice\Sil

Creative Juice\Sil is an ad agency in Plaza Damansara. The accounts for the agency are Packet One, RHB, Mandarin Oriental, F&N Diaries, Sothys, etc. It is not a very big company and that's what makes it so special.

The company consists of nearly 30 employees. The bosses are really nice and friendly. The people working here are wacky and fun. The office isn't very big, so everybody knows everybody and people here actually talk to each other! Nobody here is snobbish or rude to one another. It is a really a great place to work at.

The servicng team I was assigned to is P1 (Packet One Network). The Account Director of the team is Tasha and she is the nicest supervisor ever. The Account Manager is Syah and she is the funniest and craziest person you can ever find. Then there is Mira she is really sweet, helpful and she is our very own 'Paris Hilton'. And Nigel Nigel is just Nigel, the stoned-face-act-cool-and-secretive metrosexual. We all work hard and closely to ensure that the work is done and we can all go home by 7pm. Leaving at 5.30pm is impossible and 6.30pm is considered half day. Yes! That's advertising for you!

The creative team is just a wacky bunch of people, who have great ideas and are brilliant. There is the Copywriter - Mel, Designer - Zahriel and Visualizer - Nadz. The rest who works with the team are our one and only Art Director - Douglas (aka Chocoholic & Chicken Killer), Creative Director - Jo, Semi Intern - Joshua and FA Artists - Esten.

Working at an ad agency can be really stressful and tiring but at the same time you have loads of fun. We have our internal jokes, nicknames for each other and weird-ass acronyms and words.

I'm just an intern now, if I had a chance, I would want to work here again after I graduate. My advice for those aspired to go into the advertising industry is to remember that the motto is to work hard and play hard, always remember that shit happens and never to take things personally.

Me, Myself & Tammy

  • About Me
I am perky and can be real cranky at times. A perfectionist with many flaws. I am a hypocrite when it comes to certain things. I only do things I love to do. When it comes to things I am passionate about, I give it my 100%. I love those who love me. I appreciate those who have been kind to me. Without these people I would not be who I am today.
