Best Prank of the Year

It was my third last day at Creative Juice\Sil, when I got SMS from an unknown number. After many SMS and a few miss calls. We named him - Stalker Boy. I thought it was a prank by one of my colleagues, but he seemed as surprised and clueless as I was. I wasn't freaked out till one of the SMS mentioned where I live and usually hang out. Just when I thought things couldn't get any creepier, I received three roses accompanied with a card that reads 'To Tammy, With Love' on my second last day of internship. The highlight was during the last day of my internship, I was in Saad's office talking about my experience and all. Then this hunk showed up with a dozen of roses, claiming he was my stalker! Sigh, things like this are too good to be true and I knew for a fact that this was a prank when I opened the card the hunk handed to me. However, I have to say this is one of the coolest prank ever! The mastermind and sponsor for this prank was CJS's MD, he is definitely more cunning than he looks. I also have to reward the best actor awards to Joshua, Nadz and Zahriel. They really fooled me!

There is even a case study on my farewell prank, it's called Operation Stalker. Hope you'll find it as funny as I did.

Microwave Popcorn

There are moments in life where you discover something new and you are so amazed by it that you can't stop talking about it. Sometimes your discovery isn't such a discovery at all, that people will just think of you as a jakkun.

This is one of those moments... My first Microwave Popcorn. For those who haven't tried preparing Microwave Popcorn before, here is how you do it.

Supplied by Boss for our Chicken Movie Night 2.

Unfold it and be careful! The bottom part is really oily.

Pop it inside the microwave, set it on high for 2 Minutes and 30 Seconds. Listen to it pop!

Voila! Butter Popcorn for the movies!

I am so amazed and excited about it, I just have to post about my first microwave popcorn experience on my blog.

Chicken Movie Night 2

Our MD suggested we should organize an in house movie night instead of going to the cinemas. For the in house movie night, we will take turns to bring our favorite movie and share it with the rest. The first one to share was Saad and he's favorite movie is Cinema Paradiso.

Cinema Paradiso begins with a flashback. It tells the story of a young boy (Salvatore / Toto) and his friendship with an old man (Alfredo) who was the projectionist at their native Sicilian Village cinema. Alfredo serves as a wise father figure to Toto, as Toto's father never returned from war. The film intertwines sentimentality with comedy. It explores issues of youth, coming of age, and reflections (in adulthood) about the past. Cinema Paradiso is also a celebration of films.

For more information on Cinema Paradiso, click here. We will be having another Chicken Movie Night this coming Thursday night and I'll be sharing my favorite movie - What Dreams May Come.

The Bread Shop

The Bread Shop - A cool Boutique Confectionery located at Jalan Setiakasih 5, Bukit Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur, two shop lots away from Decanter. They serve all sorts of breads, sandwiches, and pastries. The place has this unfinished-cemented look, which is a current popular interior and exterior design. Creative Juice\Sil office also adopted this look for their new office.

The cemented exterior looks so cool, we just have to pay a visit!

An open concept bakery, you can smell the breads and pastries the moment you walk in to the shop.

The array display of breads and pastries. Yum...

The interior looks simple and elegant. A great place for breakfast, hang out, tea break or even a date!

I love these brown paper bags.

Sweet sweet cinnamon roll, loaded with lots of cinnamon. Cinnamon lovers will love this!

Sugar Bun - Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside.

The Bread Shop is a must try! I would love to own a Boutique Confectionery like this!

Let me know what you think, post a comment!

Glass So Clean It's Invisible

The goal was to create a fun, attention-getting ambient experience on the streets of Chicago for Windex. At the same time,Draftfcb Chicago wanted to prove in a light-hearted way what so many Windex users have learned: Glass is so clean it's invisible. The solution was a guerrilla effort utilizing Chicago's renowned Second City improvisational performers and Nothing. The result: thousands of consumers saw nothing and went away thinking only one thing: Glass so clean its invisible. This event was staged over a week during the busiest times of day on Chicago Michigan Avenue.

Another guerrilla style ad by Draftfcb Chicago USA for Windex. This case study video tells it all. The direct audience might not be a lot, but things like this spread like wild fire. Just take a look at you and me, we are half way across the world from Chicago and yet we've watched this ad.

Another "I wish I've thought of that" and "Ooooo so cool and awesome" ad. Enjoy!

Angels & Demons

Angels & Demons was another one of my most anticipated movie of the year and again it did not meet my expectations. Like all blockbuster sequels and book adaptation movies, they are always not as good as the first movie or the book. For those who plan to watch Angels & Demons, you can continue reading. I promise I will not go into details of the storyline.

The movie began oh so gradually, it started with a 5 minutes long narration. Continued with a 10 minutes long scene where dialogues were in Italian, without subtitles. Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) didn't appear on screen till afterwards. What made this movie even less captivating for me was because I was unfamiliar with the elements mentioned in this movie. Unlike The Da Vinci Code, even without reading the book, I knew of The Last Supper, Mona Lisa Smile, etc. My interest and understanding level of the movie was relatively high. For Angels & Demons, I just wish I had read the book first.

Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) in Angels & Demons has a sense of humour, was expressive and at certain points comical. Robert Langdon was suppose to be somewhat like Detective Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) in C.S.I. New York - cool and intelligent. Tom Hanks did a great job in the Da Vinci Code, but this time he just lost his cool factor. It was also weird to see heartthrob Ewan McGregor playing Camerlengo Patrick McKenna (a priest). Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer) looked really gorgeous, but she was just another-pretty-face-pointless character in this movie.

The good part of this movie is the setting. You get to see most of Rome. The storyline is a fast-paced thrill ride that will get you at the edge of your seat. It is also not as controversial as the The Da Vinci Code.

In a nutshell, I prefer The Da Vinci Code. I am still glad that I went to watch Angels & Demons during the premier. It might not be as good as I expected it to be. But hey, you don't always get what you want and is the experience that counts. Right?

For more information on Angels & Demons, you can visit Angels & Demons Homepage or Angels & Demons on IMDB. Here are what the critics have to say about this movie on Rotten Tomatoes.

Me, Myself & Tammy

  • About Me
I am perky and can be real cranky at times. A perfectionist with many flaws. I am a hypocrite when it comes to certain things. I only do things I love to do. When it comes to things I am passionate about, I give it my 100%. I love those who love me. I appreciate those who have been kind to me. Without these people I would not be who I am today.
