I was reading Natasha's blog - Ulat Buku in the City and I stumbled upon one of her post titled Buy One Book and Read It Challenge 2009 and found it really interesting. The challenge was initiated by another blogger - My Friend Amy. After reading her post, I felt so motivated to revive my reading habit, that I signed up for challenge option 2! Here is what the challenge says:
"The second option is to buy one book a month and read it. I am asking that those of you who will probably already have one book read by January 2 choose this option. Books can be on your other challenge lists, it is only necessary that you buy them and read them!"
I decided to take up this challenge because I love to read but always found myself procrastinating to buy new books to read. This challenge would be a good way to discipline myself to at least read one book a month. I know it's already May but it's never too late to start! I have 8 months left for 2009, which means I would have read 8 books by end of this year (that's an achievement for me!).
If you know me well, you would have guessed what are the books I have in mind already. I love Nicholas Sparks' and Cecilia Ahern's books, they are my favourite authors. I've read The Notebook, True Believer, A Walk to Remember, A Bend in the Road, The Wedding, Nights in Rodanthe and P.S. I Love You. There are still many titles from them that I've not read, plus there are some books from other authors that I would like to read, so I have a lot to choose from.
Once I've bought my first book to read for May, I would update my monthly list of books and reviews. If you would like to take up this challenge too, you can sign up here.
The Reader is nice!! only if you love to be deeply disturbed after reading a book@_@..haha..
I read it, and it really made me questioned some of the issues in life. Well, I am not spoiling the story here :)
I saw you reading it, I saw the books in MPH too. I'm not sure if I want to read something so heavy and deep, I like love stories better. Hehe I will think about it though! Thanks!
BTW!! Have you read Marley & Me?
I watch the movie...haha..love that!!
Simple and moving! I bet the book is better, but since I have known the story already, don't really feel like reading the book.
You know what, maybe we can have some kind of a book club, then we can rave about the MR Dreamy in the novel!
You have no idea! I cried so much when Marley died! I made sure I read the book before watching the movie.
Yeah, if we keep doing that, we will end up neglecting our bfs. LOL! But its fun anyway, so why not?!
